Along the coast, two watersheds will be targeted: S1 drains about 45 square kilometers and S3 drains about 5 square kilometers. These watersheds, located about 150 km from the ice edge, drain only precipitation because no permanent ice fields occur within the watershed boundaries. These watersheds have been exposed since the ice retreated about 10,000 years ago.
